Sail Covers
We make our sail covers using genuine Sunbrella acrylic marine fabric. For more information on their fabric, begin here: www.sunbrella.com/na/en/marine.pl. Click on "Fabric Show Room," then on "Marine Exterior." Click on a color and see the Bimini cover in the photo change to that color. Below will be a color name and an item number. The first two digits are the width of the cloth and the next two are the color number.
Our covers feature a webbing reinforced hem along the bottom with common sense turn button style fasteners. A heavy duty #10 jacket zipper closes the front, along with a wrap around collar with a tie at the top.
We will include chafe protection inside the front of the cover, as required, to protect the cover from winches, clutches, and cleats. Slits are required to accommodate lazy jacks or Dutchman control lines. Our slits are precisely positioned and incorporate a vertical zipper with chafe protection at the top. The price of a standard cover is $20.00/foot of over all length and rounded up to the nearest foot. Slits are $40.00 each.
For hard to cover mainsails, those that are too high off the deck to be convenient, we have developed a product called the Sail Cradle. This cover is open at the top and is attached to the boom with slugs or slides. Long battens help support the top edge and the cover is suspended with lazy jacks. Simply ease the halyard and sail drops into the cover. A zipper in the top encloses the sail. These covers are highly customized and require that the boat be in Rockland, or near by, for measurement and final fitting. Price quoted upon request.
